Hello and welcome ALL to my ARTribu Studio website!
It is with GREAT pleasure I announce that ARTribu is officially opening the studio to everyone in the Murwillumbah community this Thursday 18 November, from 5.30pm.
I am VERY much looking forward to meeting you all face to face at some of my fresh and popping workshops, and also at the opening launch!
Ladies, its time for you to take some time out with your gal pals and join us for some art workshops. Whether it be painting, drawing, creating with clay, or enjoying some macrame, you'll be happy to know we have your fun times covered! Sip on a wine or partake in some tea, switch off to the world and so happy you'll be!
Its not just all about the ladies though is it?
Fun workshops are abundant for all, so don't think its just for the girls. We encourage all humans of all abilities to escape for a few hours and find your new tribe. There are no rules in our classes apart from to be kind, we are all here to have fun and create something amazing we didn't know we could do when we first walked in.
To kick things off we will be setting the fun mood with our Paint & Pizza nights. These will be on every fortnight consecutively on Wednesday and Thursday nights, from 6-9pm. These workshops are designed for everyone, to have a blast! Bring a vino or a beer and get your happy artist on. Mid way through we all stop for a break to enjoy the delicious smells that would have been tantalising your tastebuds from the neighbours at Links Pizza next door! A choice of 3 pizzas will be on offer when you book so all you have to do is stretch out after a paint and join your tribe of the night to share some food for half an hour. Once your stomachs are cheering again, its back in for the final finishes to your art creations. A fun time had by all of laughter, creating and pizzas, you end your night full of happiness and leave with an awesome painting! How could one go wrong coming to these nights?! Kids, every school holidays we have classes for you. These will be split into younger and older groups to offer fun activities with many types of mediums. Holiday Workshops being announced this Thursday for the Chrissy Hols!
But wait kids! , You don't need to wait until then! Every third Saturday a month, at the Makers & Finders Market (except for this Saturday as I am a little snowed under!), ARTribu will have kids tent just for you! Fun activities for all will be on, so join in and make time to create with your fellow market goers. As a special treat, ARTribu Kids Tent will be at the Murwillumbah Showground Market this month on Sunday 28 November.

We have two amazing feature artists starting with us, and Im proud to say our first of many fine artist's to grace the studio of ARTribu is the wonderful and talented Roslyn Oakes.
Roslyn specialises in oils, acrylics and pastels and takes her inspiration from the beautiful valleys in the countryside of The Tweed Region, and also from birds and animals. A well known and established artist having lived here for the last 30 years, Roslyn worked extensively on a panorama of 17 high ceiling pieces to capture the view from the top of Mount Warning. This magnificent artwork can be seen at the Murwillumbah Information Centre.
Roslyn has also worked as an Art Therapist, tutored many students for various classes in her career, and is now coming to us to share her talents with all in the community.

Guess what other exciting news I have?
I am super happy to also announce our very first young and amazing Feature Start-Up Artist,
Maria - Rosa. This young woman is as talented as she is an amazing human!
Working with acrylics, Maria creates striking seascapes, beautiful soft portraits and her flower and floral paintings appear so delicate and pretty that you simply believe you are looking at the real thing.
A young woman of amazing talents, we welcome you with open arms Maria to ARTribu! We are so happy we have you on board, to encourage you to pursue your dreams, and I personally am super excited to do one of your Rose & Roses classes!
Maria will be doing regular classes with us and her studies in Art therapy will be reflected in the classes she teaches, to help us all relax into the freedom of painting.
Keep a date or two free to book in for some of Maria's classes, I am sure you'll all leave feeling rested, floaty and happy!

There are many more collaborations with many artist coming to you soon. If we all share our talents the community as a whole gets to benefit. So you can look forward to not only painting in all mediums, but also macrame, pottery, ceramics, mixed media, sculpting, drawing, sketching and life drawing to be on offer soon too!
ARTribu is also totally elated that we will be joining the makers, crafters, musicians, poets and storytellers plus all the other creatives in the Tweed Region for next years Murwillumbah Arts Trail - MAT22. Known now as THE ARTs Event of the YEAR for Northern NSW, being a part of this event is going to add to an already exciting year ahead. Thank you MAT for inviting us!
